Beejan Bibi comes from a semi-orthodox family. While she had high hopes and dreams to study well, she could not pursue them due to financial problems. With her father being a small vendor of handbags, making ends meet was the difficult story: and she was forced to stop her education and support her family.
When a well-wisher told her about the SMART programme, she quickly joined the Gajuwaka center. An active girl and a fast learner, she successfully finished the programme. She knew nothing about getting a job and was also afraid of attending interviews. As part of the training, she attended mock interviews, that helped her overcome her fear.
Beejan Bibi went on to get a very good placement at Bajaj Capital Company as Sales Executive. Now, she gets a salary of ₹10,000/-. Now, she is a role model for many Muslim minority families. She is confident that she can support her family and continue her studies through distance mode. We at BCT wish her the best.
